Larry Marantz – Owner
Larry has operated summer camps in NY & NJ since 1988. He recently retired from the NYC Dept. of Education after teaching English for 25 years. The father of 3 teen-age boys, (all born and raised in camp), Larry has been a respected innovator in the day camp business.
Kathy McBride – Executive Director
Kathy, in her 7th year as director, is a lifelong Staten Islander with 3 teen boys. Kathy has taught pre-school for many years. She is not only a director but also has the huge task of being the camp‘s office manager and activity director.
Jessica Giacci – Director
Jessica has been RCDC’s camp director for 12 years and even a counselor for years before that. A lifelong Staten Islander, Jessica has taught 3rd grade for the DOE. for more than ten years. She and her husband Mike recently welcomed their 2nd child and first daughter. Jessica, oversees the health and safety of our campers & Staff.
Michael O’Hanlan – Director
Mike has taught Physical Education in Brooklyn’s Lincoln HS since 2001. Mike has also supervised the Big Apple games on Staten Island and was once a camp counselor at RCDC. Mike, and his DOE Administrator wife Erin, have 3 young children and live in Westerleigh. He specializes in bringing his love of athletics and physical fitness to our campers.
Danielle Hepkins – Director
Danielle is in her 10th year at RCDC. She is currently a licensed early childhood teacher. An accomplished college athlete, she currently coaches basketball for a NYC HS. She brings an abundance of spirit & enthusiasm to our campers. She organizes and leads all of the camp’s special events.
Christopher Caputo – Assistant Director
Chris, a recent college graduate and middle school science teacher, has been a valued senior counselor at RCDC for the past six summers. His keen observational skills and calm demeanor has made him a camper & parent favorite.
Brian McBride – Camp Facilities Coordinator
Brian now in his seventh summer at RCDC, Brian has become one of our most irreplaceable, hard-working employees. As Assistant Facilities coordinator, his “behind the scenes” efforts and ability to withstand the daily rantings of his boss make him an invaluable member of our family.
Shawn “Skat’s The Clown” Glancy
For most families, Shawn is the very first person to greet you and your children at one of our many open houses. His balloon art is legendary at RCDC, as is his magic, face painting, and good humor. Now in his 17th year with us, Shawn and wife Marissa, recently became parents to a 1 year old baby boy.
Dianna Mullady – Camp RN
Dianna now in her 3rd year as RCDC’s medical director, Dianna has been a NYC DOE school nurse for 23 years.
